On Saturday, I persuaded Rada to go to the village of Lania. It’s located 25 km from Limassol at the foot of the Troodos Mountains.
Some time ago, I saw an advertisement for an event on Facebook: open art studios of local artists. I was under the impression that we would meet some elderly Cypriot artists and get acquainted with their work. Having been in Cyprus for four years, I had never had the opportunity to interact with the locals—they live their own lives, hidden from prying eyes. The village turned out to be very attractive and even reminded me of the creative settlements of Cape Town.
We walked around the village without seeing a single Cypriot artist. Artists from different countries, who had probably arrived at different times, settled here and created their own community. Unexpectedly, I saw the very talented works of the young Chinese artist Mia. I really liked her delicate, intricate paintings. I immediately edited the video that day and posted it on my YouTube channel.
В субботу я уговорила Раду проехаться в деревню Лания. Она находится в 25 км от Лимассола у подножия горы Тродос.
Некоторое время назад в ленте на ФБ я обнаружила рекламу события. Открытые арт студии местных художников. У меня сложилось впечатление, что мы увидим немолодых киприотов художников и познакомимся с их творчеством. Находясь на Кипре уже 4 года, я так и не получила возможности пообщаться с местными жителями- они живут своей закрытой от посторонних глаз жизнью. Деревня оказалась очень привлекательной и мне даже напомнила каким то образом творческие поселения Кейптауна. Обойдя всю деревню, мы так и не увидели ни одного кипрского художника, вероятно приехавшие в разное время художники из разных стран поселились здесь и создали свою комьюнити. Неожиданно для себя я увидела очень талантливые работы молодой китайской художницы Мии, Мне очень понравилась ее тонкая вычурная живопись. Я сразу же в этот день смонтировала видео и выставила на своем Ютьюб Канале.
