Table mountain
Climbing Table Mountain is a must-have travel brand for everyone visiting Cape Town. And most importantly, the mountain is open for visits for about 90 days a year. Why do you ask? Yes, because the city, located on the very edge of the African continent, is very often blown by powerful winds and it is not possible to get to the mountain. We were lucky and this time our first ascent to the mountain took place. Mesa Mountain is 1,087 meters high and is part of a scenic mountain range of the peninsula that stretches from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south. The table mountain consists of the mountain itself, which was named the table because it is completely flat and looks like a table.
There are many beautiful valleys, bays, and beaches around it, connected by the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the warm waters of the False Bay in the east. It is part of the World Heritage Site for its unique flora and fauna. The sandy plains at the top of the mountain gave rise to its name.
On the left is Devil’s Peak, and on the right is my favorite Lion’s Head. I will talk a lot more about her.
The first climb was incredible, I have never seen vegetation called Fainbos in my life, I have never met stones that are like lace decorated with a multi-colored fungus, and I had never looked at the ocean from a height of 1000 meters before. It was all amazing! If interested, I can share the historical facts related to Table Mountain.
For the indigenous population of this part of Africa, the Khoi Khoi and San tribes, the mountain was sacred and they believed that their god Tsoi or (Tsui or Goab) lived there.
The first European to climb the mountain was the Portuguese navigator Antonio de Saldana. This happened in 1503.
It was he who gave the name to the mountain, he called it ‘Taboa do Capo’

Почему, спросите вы? Да потому что город, расположенный на самом краешке африканского континента очень часто обдувается мощными ветрами и попасть на гору не представляется возможным.
Нам повезло и в этот раз состоялся наш первый подьем на гору. Высота столовой горы 1087 метров и она является частью живописной горной цепк полуострова, которая простирается от Сигнального холма на севере до Кейп Поинта на юге. Столовая гора состоит она из самой горы, которую назвали столовой от того, что она совсем плоская и похожа на стол.
Вокруг нее много красивых долин, заливов и пляжей, связанных холодными водами Атлантического океана на западе и теплыми водами Ложного залива на востоке. Он является частью Всемирного наследия из-за своей уникальной флоры и фауны. Песчаные равнины на вершине горы дали начало его названию.
Слева расположен Пик Дьявола, а справа находится моя любимая Львиная голова. О ней я буду еще очень много говорить.
Первый подьем был невероятен, я никогда еще в жизни не видела растительность под названием Фейнбос, я не встречала камни, которые как кружевами украшены разноцветным грибком и никогда до этого не смотрела на океан с высоты 1000 метров. Это все было потрясающим!

Для коренного населения этой части Африки, племен Кхои кхои и Сан гора была священна и они верили в то, что там живет их бог Цой или (Tsui or Goab)
