And I am very inspired by the beauty of the sea, flowers and of course people! This is the work of the project "Ah, Africa" created in 2006. This year I visited Cape Town for the first time and this city, this country became for me a real mecca. Here everything was unusually bright and filled with love. The project has acquired great importance in the life of Ukraine, the exhibition of the project traveled from city to city with the support of the Embassy of South Africa in Ukraine.

For a very long time the image of this dragon was born in my head, it sparkled and shimmered with its multi-colored scales. This happened until Redbubble company announced a competition to create a fantasy work. I did not even understand the conditions of the contest, because I was very glad that I can put my fantasies into practice and throw them on the canvas.

We’ve been living on top of the world for over a week now. The place called Akrounta village! This is too strong a word, but in fact we live on a hill and from our house there is a magnificent view of the village of Akrunta. For a whole week I did not go down from the house – even such a desire did not arise. Because of my hypertension, it is difficult for me to walk uphill. But I still tried to walk a little and in the evening I found amazing flowers. And today I read about them and to my great surprise, it turned out that these are CAPERS!

Castle of my dream.
There is so much beauty in the world and I never tire of admiring the works of nature and the hand-made art of artists. I heartily admire the work of the French artist Claire Basler and her ability to paint flowers in the beautiful Chateau de Beauvoir. Previously, I was able to create paintings that in the future turned into reality, and now I decided to dream and place stunning models of the Ukrainian couturier Yan Stepanenko in the castle. How wonderful it would be for all of us to get there!

I am very glad that in my creative reserve there are several developed solutions for conveying my feelings and impressions. The technique in which I performed my Сicada from my past can be said from my first steps on the creative path. At that time (90s) my brothers in the brush laughed at my searches and said that my "tape" (as they called them) works were not worthy of attention. I have never been as confident in myself as I am now. But almost all the works of that period were sold, and I went further in my search...

Елена Ильичева – единственный в мире живописец, использующий для написания картин весьма необычную авторскую технику. Художник пишет картины рукой с надетым на нее… хлопковым носком. Этим особым приемом Елена добивается яркой выразительности образов, в которых отражается свойственное ей острое ощущение красоты окружающего мира.
Елену по праву называют мастером натюрморта и женского образа.
Ее натюрморты восхищают виртуозной композицией, сочностью и утонченностью цветовой палитры. В них предметы выписаны тщательно, но кажутся слегка размытыми, что привносит в полотна некую таинственность и светлую магию.
Великолепны и женские образы. Томные и в то же время величественные красавицы являются зрителю, словно из какого-то своего – другого, нереального мира.
