Upon arrival in Melbourne, I was met by a representative of the company Anna and took me to Igor and Rita Grossman.
How lucky I was to meet such wonderful people: like Igor and Rita. Not fully understanding how my accommodation in Melbourne would be arranged, I discussed this with my friends in Odesa.
Tatyana Vasiliadi, my old friend, contacted her classmate Igor and asked me to accept me at first. I have many friends in Australia, but there was no one in Melbourne.
It’s a real miracle that I ended up in a family of such kind people. It is to them that I am infinitely indebted for the fact that I still stayed there. I was received, fed, watered and taken care of like my sister or aunt, who “came from Kyiv” for 10 long days!
I am very touched.
I was met in the company, but no one was going to deal with the resettlement – it was enough that they paid for it.
It turned out that finding housing is not easy at all. Each country has its own rules. Firstly, the cost is indicated not per month, but per week. And if the budget indicated by the company was about $ 600 per month, then at this point it has doubled. At the same time, they need to settle, according to the rules of Australia, not alone in a room, but in a large company. For example with 4 Asian girls. For me, it was a total frustration.
And after one of the visits to the apartment for rent, when, having made a journey that took 2 hours in an unfamiliar city, I kissed the door, I was completely depressed. I decided to return home. Only, thanks to my new friends, who understood my condition and invited me to an Italian restaurant to defuse the hopeless mood, I stayed.
Morals and life in different countries are different.
While I lived in the house of Igor and Rita, I heard many stories from their difficult past life and the one in which they live now. It is difficult to imagine how one can find strength and go through that difficult path of emigration that people who wished to leave the madness of Soviet life overcame. Maybe this made them such wonderful people who, in spite of everything, raised wonderful children and now can rejoice in their success.

Після прильоту в Мельбурн мене зустріла представник компанії Анна і відвезла мене до Ігоря та Ріті Гроссман.
Як мені пощастило зустрітися з такими чудовими людьми: як Ігор і Рита. Не розуміючи до кінця, як влаштується моє проживання в Мельбурні, я обговорювала це з моїми друзями. Тетяна Василіаді, моя давня подруга зв’язалася зі своїм однокласником Ігорем і попросила прийняти мене спочатку. В Австралії я маю багато друзів, але в Мельбурні нікого не виявилося.
Це справжнє диво, що я опинилась у сім’ї таких добрих людей. Саме їм я нескінченно зобов’язана тим, що я там таки залишилася. Мене приймали, годували, напували та дбали, як про свою сестру чи тітку, яка “приїхала з Києва” цілих довгих 10 днів!
Я дуже зворушена.
У компанії мене зустріли, але розселенням ніхто не збирався займатися-достатньо того, що вони його оплачували.
Виявилось, що знайти житло зовсім не просто. У кожній країні свої правила. По-перше вартість вказується не на місяць, а на тиждень. І якщо в бюджеті, яку вказала компанія, йшлося про 600$ на місяць, то на цей момент вона зросла вдвічі. При цьому оселяться потрібно, за правилами Австралії не однією в кімнаті, а у великій компанії. Наприклад з чотирма азіатськими дівчатками. Для мене це було суцільним розладом.
А після одного з відвідувань квартири на оренду, коли пройшовши шлях, що зайняв 2 години в незнайомому місті, я поцілувала двері, мене охопила повна депресія. Я вирішила повертатись додому. Тільки завдяки моїм новим друзям, які зрозуміли мій стан і запросили в італійський ресторан, щоб розрядити безнадійний настрій я залишилася.
Вдачі та життя в різних країнах різні.
Поки я жила в будинку У Ігоря та Рити я вислухала багато історій з їхнього нелегкого минулого життя і того в якому вони живуть зараз. Важко уявити, як можна знайти сили і пройти той складний шлях еміграції, який долали люди, які побажали залишити безумство радянського життя. Можливо, це зробило з них такими прекрасними людьми, які незважаючи ні на що виростили прекрасних дітей і тепер можуть радіти їхнім успіхам.

Так ось, коли в будинку Ігоря сталася пожежа, коли в будинок підкинули саморобну гранату, поліцейський зухвало, дивлячись у вічі потерпілим, передав по рації, що на його ув’язнення, все сталося через недогашений недопалок. Якщо злодій проник у ваш будинок отримає випадково каліцтво, то ви будете зобов’язані компенсувати його витрати на відновлення. Ось, привіт, мої друзі це вам Австралія.
