When we bought an apartment on Genuezskaya, our house was practically the only one on the Gagarin Plateau. The areas around the house were surrounded by greenery of parks of sanatoriums and recreation centers. Later, three candles were lined up, but still the sea was visible between them and it was even possible to observe the lunar path on the full moon. Then it was all seized by the construction company Kadr and others who attached themselves to them. The horizon towards the sea is now completely covered by high-rise buildings and the green mass of the Arcadia plateau has turned into a concrete jungle.
We once had to live in the Kotovsky Village, and I must note, no matter what, that the infrastructure of the residential area was maintained there, parks were laid out, kindergartens and schools were built. There is complete chaos here. There are no kindergartens or schools. And construction companies promised people who purchased housing in these skyscrapers that all this would happen. And they even indicated the place where the school would be built. But this did not happen, the place for the school was successfully sold and it was at this time that the construction of another multi-story building began. And of course this caused protests. And I, as an active resident of the neighborhood, joined the protesters. This, of course, was very unpleasant; protesters blocked Genoese Street demanding attention. Deputies from local authorities came, and they came just to advertise themselves.

Коли ми купували квартиру на Генуезькій, наш будинок був практично єдиним на Гагарінському Плато. Території навколо будинку потопали у зелені парків санаторіїв та баз відпочинку. Пізніше збудували три свічки, але все одно між ними було видно море і навіть можна було спостерігати місячну доріжку на повню. Потім це все захопила будівельна компанія Кадор та інші, що до них примазалися. Горизонт у бік моря тепер повністю закритий багатоповерхівками та зелена маса Аркадійського плата перетворилася на кам’яні джунглі.
Нам колись довелося пожити на селищі Котовського, і я мушу відзначити, незважаючи ні на що, те, що там дотримувалася інфраструктура житлового масиву, були розбиті парки, збудовані дитячі садки та школи. Тут же панує повне свавілля. Немає ні дитячих садків, ні шкіл. А людям, які купували житло в цих хмарочосах, будівельні компанії обіцяли, що все це буде. І навіть вказували місце, де збудують школу. Але цього не сталося, місце для школи благополучно продали і саме в цей час розпочалося будівництво чергової багатоповерхівки. І, звичайно ж, це викликало протести. І я як активний мешканець мікрорайону приєдналася до протестувальників. Це, звичайно, було дуже неприємно, протестувальники перекривали Генуезьку вулицю, вимагаючи до себе уваги. Приїжджали депутати від місцевої влади, і приїжджали вони щойно зробити собі рекламу.
