Winter in Odessa 2016.
And so, we winter in Odessa. I never thought that it would hurt me to look at the photo of Odessa.
It hurts to be not at home, not of your own free will, but under duress.
It hurts to depend on loved ones, when before I was always INDEPENDENT, it hurts not to be able to manage my own life. It hurts when there is a war in Ukraine and the most beautiful men of our country die every day.
And that winter 2016, we enjoyed the winter and the first snow. We also discovered a wonderful place for walking – Plates in Arcadia.
You know how I loved Bantry Bay in Cape Town – the ocean bay that flowed into the city, and so, the Arcadian plates remind me of this bay – the sea there is as deep and open as the ocean.
We meet the first snow and admire it from the window of our apartment on the 21st floor. We walk with the children and truly enjoy the winter.
It was a long time ago, and we would give a lot to return home.

І ось ми зимуємо в Одесі. Ніколи не думала, що мені боляче дивитиметься на фото Одеси.
Боляче бути не вдома, не за власним бажанням, а з примусу.
Боляче залежати від близьких, коли раніше я завжди була НЕЗАЛЕЖНА, боляче не мати можливості самої розпоряджатися своїм життям. Боляче, коли в Україні війна і на ній щодня гинуть найпрекрасніші чоловіки нашої країни.
А тієї зими, ми насолоджувалися взимку і першим снігом. Ще відкрили для себе чудове місце для прогулянок-Плити в Аркадії.
Ви знаєте, як я любила в Кейптауні Бантрі Бей-океанську бухту, що влилася в місто, так ось, аркадійські плити мені нагадують цю бухту-море там так само глибоко і відкрито, як океан.
Ми зустрічаємо перший сніг і милуємось ним з вікна нашої квартири на 21 поверсі. Гуляємо з дітьми і справді насолоджуємося взимку.
Це було давно, і ми, дуже багато б віддали, щоб повернутися додому.
